The Robot Arm includes everything necessary for building your own desktop robotic arm, that can be used to move anything laying on the table from place A to B.

Previously the story went, that anybody who wanted to build themselves a robot out of nothing, needed some kind of MIT degree (a very highly valued US university), more tools than your father and grandfather had combined, and a monetary scholarship from the state. Nowondays you can see robotics anywhere you look, from toy stores to hospitals. And finally somebody decided to bang together a kit that can be used to build your very own robotic arm. And all you need for this is a screwdriver and a some fun free time in the afternoon.

The Robot Arm is shipped in parts, so you need to assemble it yourself. It's however amazingly easy - we finished ours in a couple of hours, so you don't need to worry about soldering or complicated components - it's enough to have a screwdriver and pliers. Once the machine is finished, you'll have hours of fun as you find out about everything it can pick up or not. A controller commands the five different joints of the arm and a motor that makes the arm rotate and pick up things between forceps.

Night shift workers will be happy about the fact that the forceps include a LED light, so you can also work in the dark. So far we've managed to lift a pen from one end of the table and move it to the opposite end. The machine wasn't too happy when we tried to move a coffee cup - since 100 grams is the maximum it can lift. The best part about the gadget is, that when your friends and family see it and start arguing about who gets to test it first, you can proudly say that you built it yourself!
